The switch is held off by the edge of the glass.
A protective coating on the glass prevents operator injury.
When the glass is broken the switch is released.
When operated, the manual call point interrupts the polling cycle and can report its address in under 0.2 seconds. An LED illuminates to indicate call point has been operated.
Testing is easy. When the special test key is inserted into the bottom left hand corner aperture and pushed up, the glass drops and tests the switch.
